Exadel Announces AJAX Support for JSF

New Release of Exadel Studio Pro Provides Significantly Improved Performance and Reliability for Enterprise Web Development

Exadel, Inc. announced AJAX support through its new version of Exadel Studio 3.5. Asynchronous JavaScript And XML, or AJAX, is a Web development technique for creating interactive Web applications, that is gaining widespread attention from the development community. Because AJAX applications inevitably involve running complex JavaScript code on the client, developers need tools and frameworks that help with efficiency and accuracy.

"One of the biggest obstacles to AJAX adoption, a technology we believe has a great deal of promise, is tooling," said Richard Monson-Haefel, senior analyst at Burton Group. "Once the tooling problem is licked, AJAX development will reach the masses and its full potential as a rich Internet application technology. So, the more IDEs that support AJAX development, the better."

With Exadel Studio Pro 3.5's new support for AJAX (and coupled with additional features and functionality), development teams have access to one fully integrated development environment. The results include dramatically increased developer productivity, better product reliability and an accelerated application development lifecycle.

Exadel Studio Pro 3.5 is an advanced enterprise-level Web application development environment for leveraging open source, J2EE and AJAX technologies within the Eclipse environment. Combining visual and source-oriented development approaches with support for multiple open source technologies, including JSF, Struts, Hibernate, MyFaces, Oracle ADF, Shale, Spring and others, Exadel Studio Pro enables developers to work with multiple frameworks all within one environment. New features include:

Extensive support for the AJAX JSF components in the Apache MyFaces Sandbox component library.  Studio Pro 3.5 doesn't just bundle AJAX components, but fully integrates them into the visual editing environment in four specific ways:

§         The AJAX components are easily accessible through the Exadel Palette used with the Exadel Visual Page Editor

Full specialized support (code assist, project templates, etc.) for Struts Shale and the upgraded Facelets 1.0 extension to JSF. (Exadel Studio Pro 3.5 is currently the only IDE to support these new versions of technologies for making the design of Web applications faster and more powerful.)

"Exadel is committed to providing the development community with next-generation technology that supports open source component development," said Igor Shabalov, vice president of product development at Exadel, Inc.  "The release of Exadel Studio Pro 3.5 illustrates our leadership and ability to deliver developer-valued products to the market."
